Ready For Clinicals?

Students must begin their clinical clerkships no later than two semesters (8 months) after completing the Basic Medical Sciences. Failure to start within this timeframe will result in a penalty of US $250 for each additional month of delay. Students are strongly encouraged to notify the Administration or Clinical Department at least two weeks in advance of their intended start date and to indicate their preferred clinical sites or hospitals.

Below are requirements for starting your clinical clerkship:

  • Successful completion of Basic Medical Science Curriculum and relevant University examinations is a requirement for clinical clerkship.
  • Student contact information form
  • Identifying documentation submitted to the Clinical Department (i.e., Drivers License, Passport,
  • Passport style photo, as may be requested)
  • Proof of Visa and Citizenship status
  • Police background check and background screening
  • HIPAA Training certification
  • Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer / immunity to Mumps, Rubella, Measles
  • Proof of immunity to Varicella via titer, 2 immunization or history or diseases documented by a healthcare provider
  • Negative PPD test within the last year or chest x-ray within last 2 years, if PPD is positive
  • Yearly flu shot
  • OSHA Blood-borne Pathogens Certification
  • 3 series of Hepatitis B Vaccination
  • Malpractice insurance
