4-Year vs. 5-Year MD: Which All Saints University Program Is Right for You?

One of the first decisions prospective doctors face at All Saints University is choosing between the 4-Year MD Program and the 5-Year MD Program. Both lead to the same Doctor of Medicine qualification — the difference is in the starting point.

The 4-Year MD Program is designed for students who already hold pre-medical credits. It moves straight into five semesters of Basic Sciences, followed by 72 weeks of US clinical rotations at affiliated teaching hospitals, at $4,500 per semester. It’s the faster route for students who’ve already completed relevant undergraduate coursework.

The 5-Year MD Program, by contrast, is built for students entering directly from secondary school. It includes a full pre-medical foundation before transitioning into the same rigorous MD curriculum, at a lower $3,000 per semester. This track exists specifically to give younger students — or those without a prior science degree — a legitimate, structured path into medicine.

Both tracks share ASU’s core strengths: WHO-recognized accreditation, 72 weeks of hands-on US clinical rotations, experienced faculty from the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean, and a 20% tuition fees scholarship for every qualified applicant.

The right choice comes down to your academic background and timeline. If you already have pre-med credits, the 4-Year track gets you to clinicals faster. If you’re coming straight from secondary school, the 5-Year track builds the foundation you need without gaps. Either way, ASU’s admissions team can help you determine which path fits your situation during the application process.
